Wood Rot!

When we started the prep work for the painting, we knew we would find rot, but we weren't sure how much. Well, it could have been worse. There were some rotten boards and a couple of rotten sills that were a big pain to work with... but there were also some window frames in pretty good shape.

The sill of the dining room's large bay window were totally rotten. We couldn't rebuild the entire sill and window frame- so we used some great wood hardener and epoxy on the sill and we replaced the vertical boards.

Most of the siding was still good- only 3 very small siding boards needed replacing!

What we WEREN'T expecting to find: a foundation board that was totally rotted all the way through. YIPES! Sean replaced that one right away.
